Description: Very Rare Antique J. J. Bausch Excelsior Pocket Microscope w/ Wooden Case Pat. 1874. This is a J. J. Bausch patent Excelsior pocket and dissecting microscope. The instrument consists of three lenses mounted with the stage on a rod that is hinged to the inside of the lid of a wooden box. There are two slots in the lid for storing dissecting needles. There are two stages. A substage mirror is mounted at the open end of the body of the box. The patent date ["J. J. BAUSCH, PAT. JUNE 9 ''74"] is blind-stamped on the case. 3" x 1 1/2" x 7/8".
