Artists and Engravers: Made by M. Schaep after Cornelis de Wael. Schaep was active around 1650. Not much else is known about him. Cornelis de Wael (1592-1667) was active as painter and art dealer. He stayed in Italy for a large part of his career. It is not clear whether he made prints himself. Subject: Antique Master Print, untitled. Mediterranean harbour scene. Three men are gathered and around and drinking from a fountain, while four men stand to the left (one with a halberd). A rowing galleon approaches from the distance.Condition: Good, given age. No margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
