Both compass and Inclinometer are in good working order, when instrument is placed horizontal it works as a compass and when it is placed vertical on its stand it works as an Inclinometer. Comapss has a paper dial and a needle operating mechanism. There are some black spots on glass, some scratches and stains on metal portion as instrument is too old. Usually instruments contains only one mechanism but this particular instrument has both compass and inclinometer mechanism together. It is indeed a rare collectible hard to find, would be a great addition to any vintage instrument collection and a must for old and unique compass collector's.
