Description: The engineers at Asahi frequently came up with some interesting ideas that found their way to the open market. One of these is the Mirror Adapter II from 1972-1976. An interesting adapter for detective photographers, this allows you to take photographs by NOT pointing your camera and lens to your subjects. The Mirror Adaptor consists of a 45° reflex mirror which enables the user to take candid or clandestine shots through a window in the side of the adaptor. (The front of the adaptor has a dummy lens.) The Mirror Adapter II screws into a 58mm filter. It is intended for use only on the f/6.3 300mm Tele-Takumar, the f/4 200mm Super-Takumar, and the f 2.5 135mm Super-Takumar, all of which use a 58mm filter size. It is in superb condition. I have not used it and I make no warranties about its accuracy or reliability. I am selling this as a collector's display item. I do not intent that it be used for any other purpose. Comes with caps and case. The Pentax camera displayed in photo # 5 above is not included with this listing. Photos 7 & 8 above are borrowed from publications to show how the adapter fits the lens as I do not have the requisite lenses or step down rings handy to model it. They are not photos of this specific piece of equipment. Please ask all questions prior to purchase as Sale is Final. Sold in As Is condition. Comes with Asahi leather case and rare black leather strap. Payment due immediately upon purchase. Thank you.
