Description: Although the hardcover (wrapped in plastic) is coming away from the binding, most of the pages remain securely bound with only a detached page and some weakness near the first few. Inside is an ancient photo card from Brunswick, Georgia with "Anson Green Phelps Dodge" and "for Annie Bell" handwritten on the rear. The first end page has the name "Edna McCaskill" and "From Mrs. Dodge 1910." The author's name that appears under the picture looks to be the same hand that produced the writing on the first end page. I can't make any claims about who wrote what to whom, but I do want to add that this volume comes to me from my father (and his father, my grandfather, retired in Brunswick after many years as Rector of Christ Church Frederica on the Island, where Ellen Ada Phelps Dodge is buried!). Unfortunately, I know not the story of how this volume ended up in my grandfather's possession. The buyer agrees to accept FREE SHIPPING and to make payment within 5 days of the listing's end.
