Description: Offered here is a fascinating aquatint entitled "Napoleon En Meditation Sur L'Art De La Guerre". The print was made by Jean-Baptiste Morette (active 1790-1820) and published by Noel Freres in Paris. Below the image are explanations of the print in French on the left and in Italian on the right. The aquatint shows Napoleon in the center studying the plan of a fort, probably that he intends to besiege. Napoleon is discussing the fortress with three Roman emperors (Trajan, Titus and Marcus Aurelius) while various mythological personages (including Minerva) look on interestedly. The dimensions of the piece are: height 14 3/8 inches (sheet) by 10 1/4 inches (sheet). This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
