Description: Up for Buy it Now or Best Offer is arare 1950's Swiss Le Phare hand wound chronograph in a steel case and leather strap. The champagne color dial with patina features polished steel hour and minute hands, a 60 seconds and 30 minutes counters, a red center second hand, gold indices, and an outer counter ring. The 17-jewel Landeron 48 movement, stamped Hyde Park Watch Co., has been fully serviced and is keeping very good time. All counters and the flyback second hand work correctly. The 4 o'clock pusher stops and resets the chronograph. The case is brushed, with a polished bezel and polished steel snap caseback that fits tightly. The watch has a new acrylic crystal, and the 17mm lug brown leather strap has a silver clasp. A classic watch design perfect for sport or dress. Some history: The company was founded as Guye & Barbezat. In 1888, the firm changed the name to Le Phare - meaning 'The Lighthouse'.
