Description: Piedmont Master Potter Clyde Gobble (1932-2014) created this beautiful and rare one-of-a-kind batter bowl in blue and red (bordering on burgundy), with white/off-white accents. The glaze is very thick, and the white accents on the exterior are raised to the touch. Its rim is 4 3/8" high, and its internal depth 4". Spout to far rim spans 7 1/2". The unglazed base has the incised Gobble signature. It weighs over 2 lb. It may be vintage. Note the beautiful gradation of color inside the bowl - some crazing on the very bottom is barely visible, and only in certain lighting. The internal side walls show no visible signs of crazing. See the photo of the spout's underside - there is a possible glaze pop - but the rim itself is good. The thick handle shows zero signs of separation or damage. No bumps/chips to the exterior were found. No chips, no cracks.
