Description: This has the same look but technically is not a V-44 so please do some research if that sounds confusing. This is an Early Circa 1930 Collins #18 Machete with a No.13 sheath. The knife is loose in this sheath but it is the correct one. From tip of blade to brass cross guard measures 9 9/32β. And overall measures about 13 7/8β. In a few photos you can see a very tiny chip/ imperfection in blade. It has etched initials on the cross guard and I was told when I purchase it years ago that it belonged to somebody in the army air corps in the mid 1930s that also served in ww2 but Iβm not sure if this same knife was brought with them into ww2. I sadly donβt have their name. Maybe somebody can find a list of names at the time and get lucky since there are 3 initials to narrow it down. A very nice piece for a collection even though it isnβt the best one as it could be cleaned up a bit but I am selling as is. Message me with any questions and please check out my other items. Thank you.
