RARE HAND HOOKED WOOL RUG SIGNED MARLENE HEARD "KINDRED SPIRIT" HOOKED RUG EXC!

Description: For sale, a wonderful RARE find! This rug is by the well know Folk Artist-rug hooker Marlene Heard from Wauwatosa Wisconsin. She has hand sewn her label on the back of the hooked rug wall hanging. She taught classes how to hook rugs, she studied in West Virginia under Pearl McGowan, in the McGowan tradition. She only uses wool strips to create her wonderful hooked rugs. She would gather beautiful wool pieces at thrift stores to use in making of her rugs. The wall hanging is called "Kindred Sprit" so many beautiful colors used in making this wonderful wall hanging. Nicely finished with a place for a wood dowel to hang it from, see photos. It was never used on the floor, only ever hung like a painting. It is 20" wide x 32" long. I have shown photos of front and back of the hooked wall hanging. The craftsmanship is wonderful, so much details to each hook! It is in excellent used condition. I have added a few articles about Marlene Heard to the auction to read, she was featured in so many different magazines etc..... The hand hooked rugs are getting harder and harder to find, love hand made items! I will be listing more vintage hand hooked primitive folk art rugs - wall hangings on ebay soon!
