Description: These boxed sets are rarely seen on the open market from Johillco. This handsome collection of 5 guards in the box even has the original paper liner in the box. Box has some fading and a guards have a few marks commensurate with age and handling. This was a part of my father's collection he was gifted as a young boy sometime in the 1940s. History: The 3rd (Prince of Wales's) Dragoon Guards was a calvary regiment in the Bristish Army, first raised in 1685 as the Earl of Plymouth's Regiment of Horse. It was renamed as the 3rd Regiment of Dragoon Guards in 1751 and the 3rd (Prince of Wales's) Dragoon Guards in 1765. It saw service for two centuries, including the First World War, before being amalgamated into the 3rd/6th Dragon guards in 1922. The John Hill Company, JoHillCo, an English firm, started in 1898 by a former employee of W. Britain named Mr F. H Wood. * Please review all the photographs as I try and list all as accurately as possible (please ask if you would like additional photos) - all sales are final. I reserve the right to cancel any bids from potentially problem buyers.
