Description: ORIGINAL 1930 "THE FIRST PICTURE BOOK" & 1931 "THE SECOND PICTURE BOOK" BY MARY STEICHEN MARTIN & EDWARD STEICHEN FIRST EDITION BOOKS BOUND TOGETHER This is just a great original piece. This is an interesting example of the Mary Steichen Martin and Edward Steichen "The First Picture Book" and "The Second Picture Book". This is both first editions and one of the things that makes this a most interesting example is that they are bound together in one book. Bound in red linen boards with the "First" cover mounted to the front and "Second" cover mounted to the back. They are bound consecutively with the cover page being the only separation between the 2 books. Overall good condition. First shows some edge wear to the pages and one of the pages has been repaired with tape. Second is in wonderful condition. Really a unique example as the few other examples I have found of this book have never been in the same binding. Perhaps some sort of trade publication. Book measures 8 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches.
