Description: Beautiful RARE antique O&EG Royal Austria 6.75" Decorative Porcelain Plate featuring hand-painted flowers and vines, circa 1899-1918. Produced by the Oscar & Edgar Gutherz (O. & E.G.) Royal Austria Factory of Altrohlau, Bohemia (now Stara Role, Czech Republic), which was in existence from 1898-1918. This pretty piece has softly scalloped edges with a raised beaded detail and gold trim. The outer 1/2" of the plate is a lovely light green and the remainder has a white background. Flowers, leaves and vines are outlined with thin back paint and filled in with light pink, yellow and green. Small areas of pearlescent glaze accent this unique piece. I've never seen another one like it! Plate measures approximately 6.75" across and 1" in height. On the back is the green wreath hallmark with "O. & E.G." above, "ROYAL" inside and "AUSTRIA" below the wreath. Good antique condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing. Fine scratches and wear on gold edging & black paint lines consistent with the piece's age and use. See photos for close-ups and additional details.
