Description: You are bidding on a Portfolio of Personal Military and Civil History for Soldiers and Sailors Historical and Benevolent Society. Circa 1902.This Society was based in Washington, DC. In my research of the society, I found this statement, "It was an organization founded to help veterans of the Civil War and that, as the number of veterans declined the society withered away". This portfolio was intended for membership to the Society. The Certificate was started. The name "George H Ball" was entered and was dated May 22 but no year. This portfolio has much information in it. Picture of George Washington, pictures of "Our War Presidents" including Abraham Lincoln(War of The Rebellion 1861-1865). Also included are pictures of "Leading Union and Confederate Generals" and "Leading Union and Confederate Naval Commanders". There is also a page of drawings of Corps Badges" with more drawings of government buildings in Washington DC. Soooo much more info in here.
