Victorian "Regiment Marked" Imperial Bavarian Lions Head Officers Sword by Weyersberg & Kirschbaum Click images to enlarge Description For Consideration is a Rare Victorian Era "Regimental Marked" Imperial Bavarian Lions Head/Basket Hilt Officer's Sword by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum, and Cie for Solingen! c1880-1913 Rare Late Victorian Era Imperial Bavarian Lions Head/ Basket Officers sword by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum, and Cie for Solingen. The Sword is highly detailed and measures 39.0 inches with a etched 33.0 inches single edged blade. The etching on the Blade reads; " In Treue Fest” etched which means "Firm in Faithfulness" or Always Faithful. Has a nice Basket brass guard with Bavarian Lion and shield. The handle is very tight to blade with perfect wire wrapping around the Bark leather has and no cracks to handle. Sword has regimental markings on the lower guard which reads “6.Ch.12” (Note image). The original Sword knot was attached to the sword when found. Condition is very good for it’s age which we feel is about 1890 when this sword was created. Everything is nice and tight. Nice even untouched patina. A Fine Very Scarce Sword to add to any military collection! There is absolutely No looseness or wobbling in the handle and the basket guard is in great condition.
