Description: Antique shovel head. Item is very old and very heavy 10lbs 12oz. I bought this off a person and they told me it was found in Maine with a bunch of antique mining equipment. It's hand forged. Looks to be iron. It's roughly 11" across and 17-5/18" end to end. You can see the hand forged blacksmithing work. Has a spade style end that is mostly flat and angled at handle socket. Handle socket is slightly off center. The handle socket inside diameter is roughly 1-7/8". Still has a little wood stuck in handle. As mentioned above most likely a mining shovel and very old. It's possible it could have been used for something else or custom made long ago. Its incredibly heavy. I never seen a shovel that was over 10lbs. I don't see any signatures or makers marks. Comes as seen in pics. Any questions just ask.
