Description: Two very rare original mounted photographs of Dr. Francisco Antonio Reyes, Secretary of State of San Salvador and candidate for President in that country's 1903 election, and his wife Luz. Both photographs were taken by the Mexican photographer Guillermo Kahlo, who was the father of the famous artist Frida Kahlo. Kahlo's studio ink imprint is on the back of both mounts. Photographs are signed and dated in original ink on the backs, Francisco's photo signed to the American diplomat William Buchanan, and Luz's to Buchanan's wife. Both photos are in very good antique condition. The photos are a little wavy, which in my experience is actually the norm in this size and style of mounting (affixing the photo from behind with a cut-out window in the mount). The mounts measure about 13" x 11" and the visible part of the portraits about 8" x 6". Boxed shipping
