Description: Here is a fine and rare pair of SARD 6x42 Navy binoculars - good original as found condition. The focus is a bit stiff but OK and will loosen up with some use. I see only a touch of very light haze - overall these are better than some others I have had over the years. The Vulcanite covering is very good. the heavy wear on each side comes from the shelf that they rest on, inside the case. Every pair I have ever had showed the same wear in the exact same place on each side - these small shelves inside the case save the lenses and eye-cups from the considerable weight of the binoculars when in the case. The case itself is better than most, the closure is fine and the leather straps are intact. These are or were reputed to be some of the finest binoculars ever made - a must for any serious binocular collector or a fan of WWII Navy gear.
