Description: This is a new old stock set of 3 sub dial hands for the vintage Breitling Navitimer 806, Venus 178 movement. Also compatible with Valjoux 7736 & 7740 movement. Measure 4.4mm in length From the introduction of the black and white Navitimer dial in 1963, the Navitimer dial and handsets underwear some very subtle changes. Over the 10 years from 1963, the size of the white subdials grew larger and the corresponding hands slightly narrower and longer. These hands specifically are from a post 1969 Navitimer - the so called "big eye" dials as pictured. The subdial hands for the Venus 178 have a specific peculiarity in the that continuous seconds hand had a longer time, allowing in to reach through the dial and through the mechanism to its train wheel. Early Navis hand were all different in shape, and over time they became uniform. These hands are rare survivors, made in the 1960s. Been years since I had any of these sets to offer. Given the rarity of the continuous seconds hand, it's not uncommon for watchmakers to shorten the hand and mount them on Navitimers from 1963 onwards. No returns.
