Description: Here is a very nice old commemorative medal made of copper, in quite splendid condition overall, measuring app. 1 & 1/2" across, with a plain edge. This rare political-related piece shows just light wear, with only some tiny imperfections and light marks nothing overly distracting, and I have not done anything to clean or alter its appearance, with two of the photos having been "enhanced" for clarity. The color and detail are far above what one normally encounters with these medals, which are rather rare in any condition, quite honestly. The medal is identified in Hibler and Kappen's "So-Called Dollar" reference as HK 388. The obverse pictures the leaders of both nations facing a bit inward, the general in military garb, and "Libertad" is at the top, with partial branches at the sides and clasped hands at the bottom. The reverse reads "En Conmemoracion De La Reunion De Los Sres. Presidentes Porfirio Diaz Y Wm. H. Taft, Oct. 16, 1909, En Juarez, Mexico, Y El Paso, Texas." Classic Americana! $300.
