Description: This is a fantastic U.S. Army Model 1887 Cavalry Officer .38 Caliber Cartridge Belt with brass Anson Mills buckle. The buckle is nicely marked ANSON MILLS PAT. FEB. 1, 81. The belt is offered in very good condition and measures 42.5 inches in overall length and is 2 1/3 inches wide. It has 45 ammo loops. There is some very minor fraying but no major rips or tears and no staining. The buckle is in overall very good condition with some minor degradation. This is a very high condition example item for being almost 150 years old. Improving on this example would be very difficult and would be an excellent addition to an advanced collection.
