Description: Vintage or Antique Chessmen set with wooden Box Very Rare Vintage or antique chessmen, probably made in France or Germany. The knights are beautifully carved, with glass eyes. (3 knights are missing the glass eyes) The knights are very similar to the Elusive Hastings Chess Congress Antique chessmen. Please see last photo for comparison. Made of boxwood and black stained boxwood with a very nice patina, showing its age. Complete set of 32 pieces in good condition. King height 3.75 inches. The pieces are in good condition overall , no cracks, some leans in some pieces (PLEASE SEE PICTURES) Pieces are nicely weighted and felted. Felts have wear. (Please see photos) All weights and felts present. One knight has a loose weight Wooden Box is in good shape, leatherette covered with wear and stains, felted inside, overall in good condition for its age (Please see pictures).
