Description: Rare Zitan Archaistic Pen Candle Stick, Qing Dynasty Details ~ A very rare, Chinese Qing dynasty, 18th/19th century, hard wood pen candle stick elaborately carved. A delicate dish tops the stand, carved with a round opening sized for a pen candle. The stem is shaped by a sculptural pattern of turned nodes and ends with an elaborately carved base. A wide scalloped drip tray interrupts the sculptural forms. One of the legs, attached to the base, is partially missing as photographed. However, the piece appears to remain structurally stable. A fine and large elaborate candle holder made of hard wood. Dimensions ~ 16.5”H; 5.75”W Condition ~ Pre-owned estate fresh item from a Dallas, TX private collector. Other than the missing partial leg mentioned, there is no damage. The finish is exceptional for the age of this piece and appears to have not been previously used.
