Description: Stunning piece of contemporary ceramic art. This is a reassembled ring teapot from the artist Ray Bub. This piece is titled "Purple Foamy Whitecaps Reassembled Ring Teapot." It was chosen for the First Taiwan Ceramics Biennale, a very competitive international exhibition of 125 fired clay artworks selected from entries submitted by 692 ceramic artists from 47 countries around the world in 2004. Approximately 13 inches tall by 18 inches wide (or long) and 6 inches deep. According to the artist, it was a Cone 5 oxidation firing. Purchased from the estate of what is believed to be the original collector who acquired it. There is a glaze skip dip where the shape that holds the spout joins the rest of the body at the top. Small chip underneath the wave curl at the base where the handle joins the main teapot body. (See photo). No cracks. There are some rougher edges, but appear to be from original creation. The lid has an orange sticker in it that appears to be glued down - I did not attempt to force removal. The bottom of the body of the teapot has labels from the exhibition (I assume). Artist mark in unfinished portion at bottom of teapot (see photo). The photos are part of the description.
