Description: Red Wing Art Pottery Textura Line Gray Bowl from Belle Kogan #B2109 For sale is a Mid Century Modern Red Wing Art Pottery Textura Line Gray Bowl #B2109 designed by Belle Kogan in the early 1950s; the bowl measures 12" x 8", and is 2 1/2" tall. "Belle Kogan, a New York-based industrial designer, is regarded as the first prominent female in the profession in the United States and is known as the "Godmother of Industrial Design". Between 1938 and 1964, she designed more that 400 pieces for Red Wing Pottery; she began the collaboration with a prodigious output of 150 new shapes, from which Red Wing chose 100 pieces for production—marketing them as the "Belle Kogan 100. In the early 1950s she designed four new art pottery lines one of which was Textura; all shape numbers from these collections carry the "B" prefix as she wanted her designs to be more easily attributed to her." The Bowl is in like-new mint condition with no cracks or chips; there is one mold/glaze imperfection on the bottom (see photos). Photographs Are Of Actual Item.
