This tripod is built extra sturdy for professional use by filming crews It has mid level bracing that gives it additional support and also allows you to angle each leg differently for uneven terrain. Manfrotto says that these legs can hold approx. 39 lbs. and therefore they can hold some of the heaviest cameras and equipment. when legs and column are in the closed position it measures approx 35” and when the legs and the center geared column is fully extended it reaches approx. 69” and you can also lower it with legs spread to approximately 16” from the ground to do macro work or low level shooting. the tripod has all of its knobs and they all tighten up. and it has a built in level. It has a 3/8-16 mounting screw for most heads. It is great for 35mm, digital, video, movie cameras, medium format, large format cameras, as well as telescopes and spotting scopes and lasers.
