Description: This beautiful mandala-style redware sgraffito plate was made by JoAnna B. Amundson, who was at that time with Clay Mistress Pottery in San Antonio, Texas (marked on the underside). It might be vintage. It has a beautiful design, contrasting well with the purple, black, and turquoise background. It is 10 3/4" in diameter. The center circle is 1 7/8" in diameter. The black band is 3/4" wide. It has a nice shiny surface. On the underside, there are a few shallow chips to the glaze - possibly associated with the firing process. Otherwise, no chips, no cracks, no crazing. See photos. I wouldn't hesitate to use this for serving dry goods like bread, rolls, cookies - or display it - or both!
