Description: This large, registered, express business cover was sent from Leipzig, Germany, to Meisterschwanden, Switzerland, on July 2, 1917! It was put on a ship(note the "Durch Eilboten," sticker) to cross Lake Constance on its way to its final destination! To continue, all of the German, "Germania," issues(two, 10-Pfennig, and three, 15-Pfennig) are in fair-good condition. The four stamps placed on the far right side of the envelope have some perf problems on their right sides due to having been put too close to the edge of the envelope. There is also some staining on all of the stamps from gum residue and/or toning. The five cancels from the Leipzig P.O. are quite good! The mail arrive in Meisterschwanden on July 5, and received a great CDS! Lastly, as for the condition of the envelope, it's pretty good. It's quite clean! The back flap is intact, but does have some tears in it caused when it was initially opened. Noted imperfections aside, this remains a neat piece of registered, express business mail sent from Germany to Switzerland via ship in 1917!
