Description: Our client's framed print after Rembrandt's original copper plate etching from 1639, entitled Christ Crucified between the Two Thieves: The Three Crosse, is believed to be a phototype from the series produced in the late 1880s to early 1890s under the direction of Friederich Lippmann (1838-1903), Director of the Kupferstichkabinett in Berlin. Matted and framed in glazed stained wooden frame sometime in the past 10-15 years. Frame 21 3/4 by 19 1/2 by 1 inches. Matte opening 16 by 13 3/8 inches. Plate 15 3/4 by 13 1/4 inches. This title's reference number is known as B78, a reference to the numbering sequence for the artist's etchings and drypoints established in 1797 by the Vienna curator, Adam Bartsch. In good condition. Surface is clean. Some minimal wrinkling. Not unframed for further inspection. Frame with rubbing wear and small chip losses at the corners.
