He was a painter, graphic designer, sculptor and jewelry designer. First followed courses at the Academy of Sint-Joost-ten-Node, continuing education at the Academy of Brussels, directed by J. Maes and L. Devos (1941-1946). He was also apprenticed to sculptor G. Jacobs for seven years. During this period, he designs small sculptures in bronze and silver.
