Renaissance Medieval Girls 6-8 Celtic Viking Apron Dress Hooded Chemise Costume

Description: Perfect for Ren fairs, & reenactment/historical events. For consideration is a handmade, 100% cotton, Medieval Viking outfit made to be worn by a girl & some items to be worn as she grows to a young woman. There is a light blue chemise-style tunic base dress that is hooded (unlined) & trimmed with dark blue hand stitching & a blue on light grey ribbon trim edging the sleeves and hood (sewn on by hand). Chemise top center does appear white on my monitor but the tunic is entirely the light blue. I have cut this in a tunic style (historic pattern style with no shoulder seams) for an easy fit to a variety of body types & giving some room to grow. Inside seams are French seamed for no fraying & longevity of wear. Bottom hem is machine rolled & machine hemmed. Viking (& other Celtic) women & girls wore apron dresses over their base dress & they were everything from dressy to casual. This a fancier apron dress (probably an earl's daughter) with the ability to be worn as the girl grows up. The back closes with light grey ties that you can move as you need it to be made larger. It has extra width that I have just folded under at the back. It has hand embroidered knot designs at the top and bottom of the front. Back opening edges are the selvage & bottom is just a natural fringing of the edge. Top is hand stitched hemmed. There is a matching ribbon belt & a long strand of glass & silver-plated beads. These are made long because these would be worn for status all of a young girl's life. They tie to the front at the shoulder strap but can easily be accessed to make the strand shorter if you prefer. Shoulder straps can be shortened by tacking them under at the back attachment and just let it back out as this girl grows to be a young lady. This is a girl's medium cut, 6-8 in sizing.
