Description: This auction is for a high-quality modern reprint of the vintage WWII flight manual entitled "Aircrewman's Gunnery Manual". Buyer to pay actual shipping costs. Please check the postage calculator to be sure. These are not your grandmother's scans. Every page has been hand-corrected to remove as many blemishes as possible. Color correction with a known color standard sheet was used to get the colors as close to the original as possible. Special care was taken with the half-tone images to make sure all the depth and range of the originals is preserved. Manuals are printed on 24 lb paper and comb-bound with clear plastic front cover and black plastic back sheet. Although the original manual that I scanned is public-domain, this hand-edited edition is copyright James A. Moorer 2009-2010. I have sprinkled small copyright notices throughout the manual. This is the Navy version of the Gunner's Information File (see below). This has page after page of the gunnery, turrets, and sights on the Navy version of the B-24, the PB4Y. This manual is necessary because of the variety of specialized gun turrets used by the Navy, such as the Erco Teardrop, the Martin Hydraulic Upper Deck, The Martin Hydraulic Tail, the Consolidated Tail, and the dreaded Sperry Retractable Ball, this last one often considered a death trap, as well as being hideously uncomfortable for the poor gunner. This is a FULL COLOR manual with page after page of color half-tone illustrations.
