This example sunned, edge worn and rubbed with spine gilt faded away. The binding is loose with the half title page present but detached. The half title page is missing the a small section of lower corner. A worn albeit acceptable example of a rare modern classic. Published in the UK under it's better known title: A High Wind in Jamaica. The American edition preceded the UK edition by nearly seven months. Filmed in 1968 under the UK title and starring Anthony Quinn and James Coburn. This copy is inscribed on the front fly page: "Emily Abbot / With the author's affection & respect. / 1929". Signed copies of this title are rather scarce.
