Covers somewhat worn with some rubbing, nicking and light stains. First gathering must have sprung loose at some stage, this has been sewn back with in with some extra archive tape as support. Text block generally very clean. Sturdy, firm binding. No inscriptions or cracking. The photos are the best guide to condition. Context: One of Marsh's key collections of weird mysteries, featuring supernatural and criminous stories. A very striking, handsome book - one of the very best in the genre of weird fiction from the Pre WW1 era - with sadly uncredited artwork. The British first printing of this title is less common than the near identical US version. The Brit edition is a bit chunkier and more rounded, the US is sharper edged with slightly thinner paper.
