Description: Robert Wingo, our graphic artist, has graciously developed a new decal set, #161 which does the Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Potomac (RF&P) 9000 series Thrall 54' covered hopper. Includes bonus 2-bay 55-ton covered hopper lettering and can letter one 54' and one 55-ton hopper. The sets are HO-scale, mainly white and black. It’s a 4750 cubic foot covered hopper, 90XX series, built in 1980. 9000 to 9014 were assigned to Domino Sugar in Baltimore9015 to 9099 was assigned to haul phosphate fertilizer from Florida initially and then grain.After 1991 all cars came on the the CSX roster and were renumbered 256483-256497 and 256500-256584 as patch-outs. These decals include road name, spelled out and block letter abbreviated RF&P heralds, road numbers, and dimensional and capacity data specific to the cars. As these are modern cars, the sets include consolidated lube plates, which require the black color, wheel inspection dots, which require yellow, and Kartrak-ACI Labels, which require a rainbow. Virginia residents pay sales tax.
