Description: A fun impressionist coastal beach painting with sailboats and sunbathers along the water’s edge by American artist Robert Hogg Nisbet (1879-1981). Nisbet was born in Providence, Rhode Island and first studied at the Rhode Island School of Design,and later studied in New York and abroad. He taught at Brown University and was president of the Art Students League of New York, where he served as president from 1910-1911. He was elected an Associate Member of the National Academy of Design in 1920 and a National Academician (N.A.) in 1928. Oil on panel, signed and dated 14 lower right, titled on verso Kent Art Association exhibition label “Northport Long Island 1914,” with a partial George E.
