Description: A beach aged bamboo root culm was carefully paired to an 1860s Meerschaum bowl with very fine result. Before you mutter under your breath about some hillbilly cutting up a Civil War era piece of history...please look at the before photo, to see the rough condition in which this pipe came to me. A broken, cobbled mess. The back half was more glue than pipe! But the rich patina and beautiful shape of this wonderful old world meerschaum was begging to be saved...if this pipe had puppy dog eyes, it would have used them on me. You know those terrible sci-fi movies from the 50s and 60's, where some mad scientist sews a gorilla arm on some guy, or a second head on on another? Well that's how I saved this pipe... I Mad Scientist-ed it. Personally, I love the outcome...but I suppose every mad scientist loves their creation. Granted, it has an octopus tentacle where it's Austrian made stem should be, but hey...it's alive isn't it?! Now, before you dust off your pitchfork and grab one of your oil soaked torches from the closet, please know that this pipe fits in the hand like no other pipe I have held...it's well balanced, organically curved and smokes like a dream. Trust me. Annnnnyyyyyway, thanks for looking... ... .
