The Story:Ten years after the first Robotech War, with their victory over the invading forces of the Zentaedi and saving the Earth from total destruction, war heroes Rick Hunter and Lisa Hayes lead a dangerous mission into deep space, to the home world of the Robotech Masters in hopes of averting a second Robotech War. With their ship, the SDF-3, disguised as a Zentraedi vessel, the Robotech Expeditionary Force hopes to meet with the Zentraedis' creators in peace and prevent further conflict. Unfortunately, another alien race has already reached the Robotech Masters home planet of Tirol and decimated the surface, the Invid! Led by the Regent, who has sent Invid Shocktroopers and Hellcats to tear the planet apart in a desperate search for the Invids' stolen Flowers of Life, the secret of the universal power source known as Protoculture. This Issue:The Sentinels launch their assault on the Invid garrison on Karbarra and try to rescue the hostage Karbarran children where Kami is surrounded by Inorganics. Contains an entry sheet for the famous Design Your Own Character Contest that was held in 1993. A Brief History of Robotech:Robotech started out as a cartoon that aired on T.V. in the mid-1980's. Assembled from three unrelated Japanese cartoons, it was redubbed and re-edited into a single epic generation-spanning story about Earth fighting against three devastating alien invasions. It was so successful a sequel titled "Robotech II the Sentinels" was planned but only 90 minutes of original animation was produced before the project collapsed. Leftover scripts were rewritten into novelizations and also comic books. Today Robotech enjoys a renaissance of new animation like the Shadow Chronicles movie, comic books, toys, video games and more.
