Description: Pre-bonsai or landscape tree. Rocky Mountain Douglas-fir/spruce, red fir One in a gallon sized pot. 1'-2' from soil line Note: I am down to the smaller ones like in the first photo. I've reduced the price to compensate. The Pseudotsuga Menziesii (Doug-Fir) is native to the western United States in a wide range of climates. A bit more drought tolerant then other trees and can take the winters here in the upper Oregon Blue Mountains with no protection. They have soft dense aromatic dark green needles. If using for landscaping they run between 40 and 100 feet in height and can live between 50 and 75 years. Look great by their self with their conical shape but also work great for tall screens or hedging. Do best in full sun with moist well drained soil. USDA Hardiness Zones 4 - 6 I splay the roots in training for a bonsai pot which also works if planted in a landscape to prevent roots knotting in the future. They are an easy care tree, take wire nicely and are just nice to work with.
