Description: Offered for your consideration... 1906 Fan Craze ~ National League ROGER BRESNAHAN, New York Giants ~ longtime member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame (HOF) WG3 REPRINT This card is part of a 54 card National League set picturing leading players from the senior circuit in 1906. At time of issuance, Honus Wagner had already established himself among the National Pastime's greatest of the greats. Deadball Era pitchers, who enjoyed the upper hand over most batsman, had nothing on Wagner. Then in the midst of his 21-year career, Hans had never hit below .299 and usually hit .335 or better with a high of .381 to that point. The American Card Catalog designation for this card is WG-3. The National League version is distinguished from the American version in the color of card backs: red (for the National League) and blue (the American) - a reversal of modern expectations. The cards are today's standard 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" with rounded corners and nice black and white vignettes. (The NL version is a bit nicer than the AL, however, it should be noted.) This is a well done, reprint edition. The word REPRINT appears in the lower left corner on the back side.
