Description: Rolex 50.5mm Stainless Steel Deck Watch Circa 1940s, serviced by master horologist. In good running order keeping good time ready to treasure and enjoy! These watches were often designed with a lever escapement mechanism, a reliable and precise method of regulating time in mechanical watches. Rolex’s deck watches started production in the early 20th century, often featuring high-quality movements and classic designs. These watches are now considered collectible due to their historical significance and craftsmanship. Original Enamel Dial: Signed Rolex Swiss made. White enamel with Arabic numerals dial, chapter ring 1/5th of a scale with applied red minute markers. Sub seconds dial at 6 o'clock in excellent working order. Steel blue spade and whip hands in good condition. The Enamel dial has hairline cracks in particular between 4 and 5. The Rolex signature has partially faded over time. Please see photos. Original Crystal: Perspex crystal is in very good condition. Original Stainless Steel Case: Case – The movement is housed in a white metal open face case, which has a hinged cover. Polished case measures 50.5mm without crown. Has scratches, fading and tarnishing associated with polished base metals commensurate with age and wear. Snap Back Original Case Back Cover Outer: Has surface scratches and tarnishing associated with base polished metals commensurate with age and wear. Please observe photographs. Original Movement Case Inner: Marked Nickel steel numbered ‘2165061 ’. Has surface scratches associated with base metals commensurate with age and wear. Period service markers present. Original Movement: Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and is signed ‘Rolex Lever, Swiss Made’ and is in good condition , serviced by a master horologist keeping good time.
