Royal Albert Old Country Roses Santa Topping Tree Christmas Ornament Eng 1998

Description: This Lovely Vintage Porcelain Christmas Ornament was made by Royal Albert and is the ‘Old Country Roses’ edition which was introduced in 1962 by Harold Holdcroft, the Art Director at the time. This Ornament was originally designed in 1962, hence the C1962 Underneath the ornament. However this edition of the Ornament was made in 1998, with the addition of the musical element inserted into the base. Unfortunately this ornament is no longer musical due to part of the mechanism now missing. The Ornament still looks beautiful due to the musical mechanism being underneath the Tree and therefore cannot be seen from the top. This lovely Ornament is bright and colourful with Santa Topping the Tree with a star that has the old country roses motif on it. Some of the presents under the tree also have this motif. There are no chips,cracks,stains or repairs, it is vintage and therefore has some wear and tear commensurate with its age. There is slight rubbing on the gold gilding,however it is still quite prevalent. The ornament is multicoloured with beautiful vibrant colours (Red,White,yellow,Green,Purple & Gold) The Ornament has an iridescent effect. The Royal Albert ‘Old Country Roses’ with C1962 Back-stamp is underneath the Christmas Tree. This Sweet Classical Ornament has a wire loop attached to the Tree for hanging purposes (just add String/ribbon etc) It is also Freestanding therefore it can be placed on a vignette ,table scape or a shelf.
