A shield in quartets contains the lions of England, the harp of IreIand and the flag of Scotland. This is surmounted by the Crown Imperial and crossed maces with the words Coronation June 26th 1902 (the ceremony was postponed to Augut due to the King's illness). To the left is a Boudicca with a shield decorated with the Union Flag. To thr right a Brittania with a trident from which ribbons hang listing the main continents and countries of the Empire. Brittania's trident rests on India depicted in a globe and an ostritch peers out around her. On the reverse within a wreath are the words "King of Great Britian and Ireland and of the Dominions beyond the seas. Emperor on India". The pot bears the mark of Royal Winton with the superscript The Foley China, Foley being an area in Staffordshire used by a number of companies to emphasis quality as a legal ruling prevented Shelley from having exclusive use to it.
