Description: Lebanon is a city in and the county seat of Laclede County, Missouri with a population of 14,474 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1849 and was named after Lebanon Tennessee, the former home of many of the first settlers. The first permanent courthouse was constructed in 1851 but was sold in the 1870s and the records were moved to another building in Lebanon. Another courthouse was not built until 1894 and was destroyed by fire in 1920. The next courthouse was completed in 1925 and I think is the Courthouse on this card. wikipedia I found an image of the current Courthouse, built in 1994 which, it looks like, at the time was built right next to the 1925 version. No idea if it is still standing. This Real Photo Post Card is in good condition with intact corners and edges. The image is clean and clear as is the reverse. The EKC stamp box was used between 1930 and 1950 but I think that this card would be earlier in that time frame.
