Railroad DEPOT, which was on Michigan Central RR Air Line Railroad. Railcars loaded with logs next to the DEPOT, near the St. Joseph River, an important waterway for this village and Mill Operations! Also in this great view is a Steam Traction Engine Yard Tractor! Last map image supplied for additional reference purposes only.The Mill Works was owned by the ATHENS HARDWOOD COMPANY (Mill and Log Stock Yard view) which was a large employer in the area until Branch County became “Logged-Out!” The DEPOT, as you can see, is on the right! The Michigan Central Railroad was originally incorporated in 1846 to establish rail service between Detroit, Michigan, and St. Joseph, Michigan. A stop was made in Sherwood.
