Description: A vintage FULL SUEDE LEATHER edition entitled “The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám,” usually subtitled “The Astronomer Poet of Persia,” done into English by Edward Fitzgerald. This edition published in 1910 by Letchworth at the Arden Press. It contains the 75 quatrains of the first, 1859 edition, not the 101 of later editions. The book is in extremely poor condition, the spine and binding very poor with many lose pages and some foxing and grubby marks. There is also an inscriptions in Welsh which is difficult to read, but dated 1911 and mentions “dywyllwch” which I believe means darkness and is signed “Taibach” - please see photo. No dust cover. Not a former library book. Dimensions about 5.5 x 4 inches. A project for restoration. Please see photographs, these are of the actual book for sale and form part of the description. Dispatched from the UK.
