Description: This Picatinny Rail is for the older 181 thru 186 series Ruger Mini 14 NOT the newer Ranch Rifle, if your rifle is stamped Ranch Rifle this will not work on your gun. Can be used as non gunsmithing, which most people do, or you can have 1 hole drilled and tapped in the front of the reciever for an extremey solid setup. All hardware is included. 180 series is availble upon request. Made in America form 6061 billet aluminum and black anodized. To install NON gunsmithing, simply remove the rear sight aperature, then set Picatinny Rail between the rear ears and secure with included 1/4-20 screws, then tighten rear set screw at the back end of the mount, this will force the front of the mount down for a solid contact at the front of the reciever. If you choose to have a gunsmith drill and tap for the front screw hole for even more stability a 6-48 screw is included. Do NOt attempt to drill and tap this yourself, these rifle have extremely hard steel recievers and breaking a tap is very easy to do.
