The Sadowsky Archtop was originally designed by Roger Sadowsky, who maintained the guitar for many years as a replacement for Jim Hall's beloved Durkst. Despite its standard 16" width, the 2 3/4" thick 5-ply wood construction of the body not only provides feedback protection, but also delivers a pure sound output that is specialized for electric sounds. The P.U. is a custom-wound Sadowsky original humbucker mounted on an escutcheon. The volume and tone can be controlled from edgy to mellow tones by adjusting the volume and tone at hand. The neck shape was reshaped several times to fit Jim Hall, with a 44.5mm nut width and a slightly thinner shape. Ebony fingerboard, bridge, tailpiece, and pickguard give it a neat look and tone. The position of the outputs, neck joint construction, and other details show the attention to detail that has gone into this instrument. The color is a bright solid blue! Ebony and gold hardware add to the rich atmosphere.
