Description: The name of Sailor Valentine Is Blushing Petals. Hand crafted in a 6 inch by 6 inch box made of Mahogany wood. The center features a white shell bird sitting in a black coral branch. Flowers and sea urchin spines decorate the coral branch. The bird rests on a background of abalone edged with gold cording. Then circled with sand dollars decorated with freshwater pearls. A wreath of flowers surrounds the center, the flowers consist of pink button shells, gooseneck barnacles, gar scales, coffeebean trivia, sea urchin spines, pink apple blossoms, pink operculums, pearls, barnacles and lilac shells. Bits of coralized algae are placed between the flowers. Rice shells edge the box. Pearlized shells highlight the eight corners of the box. Blushing Petals can be hung or displayed on an easel. There is a sturdy hanger on the back. I use shells from all over the world and the finest handmade boxes with the best hardwoods. I am a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. My Sailor Valentines have won several awards at the Sanibel Shell Show, Sanibel Island Florida.
