Description: Item Description: For sale today is a set of ten new switch assemblies for the ARP OMNI Synthesizer with black key caps. These are assembled as shown with the insulator board separate. The insulator board goes between the switch assembly and the OMNI board during installation. These switch assemblies replace the old mechanical push ON push OFF switches in the OMNI. These will not work in the OMNI II or other ARP synthesizers. There are no instructions other than listed below for these switch assemblies. Please contact me through EBAY if you have any questions prior to purchase. These switch assemblies use momentary switches (new GATERON low profile switches) with a set of adapter boards (for spacing and logic) that allows them to work similar to the switches in an OMNI II. They are in the OFF state after power ON. Once powered, pushing the switch toggles the state. The LED next to the switch will light in the ON state as shown in the last picture. Some of the pictures show white caps, the auction only includes the black caps. The caps are a matte black, not shiny. If you want a different color, that is up to you, any MA profile keycap will fit. The first picture shows the new switch assembly (white cap) next to the original switches in the OFF (up) position. The OMNI board in the picture is not included. The second and third pictures are close up pictures of the switch assembly and the switch board stackup. The logic in these switches requires a ground connection. Both of the alignment posts are connected to the ground in the switch. A small wire jumper will have to be soldered from either alignment post to ground on the board. The last picture shows the ground connections for four of the switches on one of the OMNI boards. It is up to you to locate the ground trace on each of the boards and solder the wires. Note: The resistor used with the LED has one side connected to the LED and the other side connected to ground. The screw used to support/attach the old switches is no longer used. When mounting the switch, make sure the bottom insulator board is flush to the board stack on the switch. Solder one of the two switch connections first and press the switch in to the board while re-flowing to insure the switch is tight to the board. Once done, the other switch terminal and the two alignment pins can be soldered in (the OMNI has plated holes for the alignment pins). Once the switches are in place, the ground wires can be attached. The OMNI switches (fortunately all 10 of them) just switch +15V to the load when ON. The load side of all 10 switches has an LED adjacent to the switch with a resistor to ground for current limiting. That ground is used for the switch ground. These adapter boards are not RoHS compliant so there are no international sales for now.
